Metro Manila still on Alert Level 1 until May 15

2022-5-2

Despite the fear of a surge in coronavirus infections next month and an Omicron subvariant entering the country, the government’s pandemic task force has decided to keep the National Capital Region (NCR) and many other areas in the Philippines under Alert Level 1, Malacañang announced. The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) retained the Alert Level 1 classification of the entire National Capital Region effective May 1 until May 15, 2022. Although the number of new infections has decreased significantly, it is believed to be a warning against new mutants and the general election to be held on the 9th.
