Banaue Rice Terraces
Banaue Rice Terraces located near the center of the Cordillera Mountains in northern Luzon. The terraced rice fields built on the slopes of the mountain continue endlessly, and the total length is 20,000 km that can go around the earth halfway. The highest scale peak reaches up to 2,000 meters, and is also known as the “stairway to heaven.” Its history is over 2,000 years and was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1995. Located at a high altitude of 1,500m above sea level the terraces have a good view. Sunrise Viewpoint is particularly popular, and the endless scenery of the terraced rice fields is a masterpiece. Flowers are blooming along the pavement and the contrast with the rice fields is wonderful.
You can also hire a mountain guide to enjoy trekking. It is okay to visit the Banaue Rice Terrace all year round, but rice planting is around January to February, so if you want to see the refreshing green terraced rice fields go in March to April, if you want to see the golden rice terraces, start in June. July is the best season.
