2021 GDP up 5.6% for The First Time in 2 Years, Almost Recovering to Pre-Corona Level

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced on 27th, that the real gross domestic product (GDP) for 2021 grew 5.6% year-on-year in preliminary figures. This is a turnaround from the previous year’s 9.6% decline, which was the worst on record. The economic activity picked up due to a review of measures to restrict travel and outings in response to the new coronavirus.
