Metro Pacific Tollways (MPTC), a major expressway operator in the Philippines, has announced that it will install charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) on expressways in 2022, Business World and other media reported on 15th. MPTC launched a new company, MPT Mobility on 14th to oversee non-toll road related business. Through the new company, the company will promote the installation of charging stations in parking lots of highway rest areas. According to Mark DeLeon, vice president of MPT Mobility, the company is expected to install one or more stations each on the Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
