The oldest city wall in Manila, built by the Spanish in 1571 for Philippine governance. Intramuros means “inside the wall” in Spanish. Most of the Romanesque architecture was destroyed during the Pacific War, but it was restored in the 1980s and is a valuable area where you can feel the history of the time. At present, tourists attracted by the World Heritage San Augustin Church, Manila Cathedral, and Casa Manila Museum, so it is a popular spot for historic sites tour.
